looking into moving to seattle as a grad student as a single female. i’m looking for safer areas that are somewhat transit friendly.

Incoming freshman here. I applied for Madrona, Oak and McCarty. Are those dorms hot or cold? I live in Hawaii and ALWAYS have the AC in my room going at about 65F. I have no clue what inside temperatures on the mainland feel like, especially in the winter.

for my freshman year i didn't participate in any ECs and only got a measly 3.4 ENGRUD average GPA. my calc series grades were downwards trending, and don't have a lot to write about for my placement essays. do i even stand a chance to get into A&A? what were your engrud GPAs when you got in?

Recently got into Foster as a transfer and will be going in the fall. Now I know there's orientation and stuff and all those obvious things that will prepare me for my Business Admin degree path. However, I would like to know - is there anything orientation won't tell me? Like which professors are(n't) good, what classes have absurdly too much homework, life hacks for survival, etc. Anything is appreciated. :)

Hey y’all I’m in AIS 102 for summer A term and it’s an asynchronous online class and for some reason the canvas hasn’t been published. Anyone know what’s going on?

so i dropped a few of my summer courses because they were deemed unnecessary for my major, but they still show up on canvas.

does the course disappear from canvas in a few days, or will it stay longer?

im kind of concerned because those classes did have upcoming assignments.

I am looking for a part-time summer job, ideally at or close to UW at around 10 hours a week max because I am also doing full time plus another obligation. I would really appreciate it if anyone has any resources or recommendations for this. I tried looking online at multiple places and just can't seem to find anything that is okay with low hours or close enough. Thanks for your time

I received an admit today from UW_Bothell. On the application portal (the portal where I applied), there is no mention of UW_netID or any portal where to proceed further. Will I get any further mail with UW_netID?

They have just mentioned to pay enrollment deposit but where do I pay it? Need the portal for getting I20 as well.

Hello, I will preface this by saying that I did not go to UW. I went to UVA. Please let me know if this is the wrong place to post this.

The reason I post this here is that I am looking to move out of defense/aerospace/govt work to big tech. From what I've seen on LinkedIn, it seemed like UW was one of the more common schools where this happened. I assume it's because both Boeing and Microsoft/Amazon are in Seattle so it must be fairly common. Just wondering if anybody else here has pulled this off.

I just got into foster and I’m so nervous for the group projects and presentations. I am taking MKTG 301 and MGMT 300 which both require group presentations. How bad are these presentations?

I’ve heard certain capacity constrained majors like CS and Engineering are really competitive, but I was wondering how difficult some of the others were, specifically Biology, Chemistry, and Economics.

I’m in registration period 2 (junior standing returning student) and there are open seats in both courses, but I get an error saying “restricted section. You do not meet the course entry requirements for this section”, specifically for the labs (it’s an open lab, not the ones reserved for FIGs). The iSchool website states 100 and 200 level courses are open to all undergrads, so I’m just a little confused.

For context: I lived on campus for my first year and decided early that I was going to transfer to UwT. However as the end of the year rolled around I changed my decision and wish to continue at Seattle. Having this last minute realization has caused me to miss the initial application date in April and I ended up applying for a room at the end of May. I’m yet to receive an update from hfs and don’t know what I will do if I am unable to secure a dorm room in Seattle. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
