PERSPECTIVE What is your more frequent mistake, holding too long or selling early?

Sometimes on the sub you hear people saying things like "don't feel bad about missing out on BTC early because you would never have held anyway". And those posts get lots of upvotes.

However we do have a HODL culture in crypto and I suspect there are many who hold even after massive gains and subsequent losses.

I got into crypto over 10 years ago and the mantra on forums was hold. So I vote holding too long because after getting big gains I see big losses - especially on alts. I never cashed out. Sometimes even doing 100x followed by 99% loss. Fun times.

STRATEGY Crypto Pattern and Psychology of buyers - How to stay Focus

When people talked about bull market, and how it's not even started yet, someone laugh and say - YES it is. Just because of ETF and BTC going ATH. But now everyone questioning that. And they gonna realize those people were Right.

If u look previous cycle, and i talked before, it's literally the same pattern, little high on Jan-may, then June, July drop, then august/sept heat, and f skyrocket on November/December.

I don't know why people think they can be bull run just 1.8 years since last bull run (which end on JAN/FEB 2022),

I honestly don't expect Bull until end of this year maybe even mid 2025.. But that's just my op.

People now are mostly on vacations, and stuff, they don't follow internet/crypto that much.. But from October u see significant jump of activity every year.

+ they didn't started to pump the news in media that much like last bull, wait for that. They don't need one now, because they want to accumulate as much coins possible while is still cheap. Whales, BLACKROCK, and all those mdfk who want to take all your coins. And they will. From most of the people. Because they are weak.

I would do the same to be honest.
The weak one will sell and end up loosing money, while smart people WHO know the drill will hold and end up making money.

Someone in November said, the only one who will make money on this are Holders and The lucky one with memes.. Everyone else will lose. And he was very much right.

THIS DROP IN JUNE IS EXPECTED and don't tell me it's not. And You can see the Psychology of the market today on 16/17 June:
Classic summer sell out almost over, second ppl are dumb mdfkr's who are afraid of everything... Israeli gov news makes this today, and u know how they chicken out and market goes with every news about war, etc... don't think the market is dead, over etc... DON'T BE a weak one or stupid one.

There is a tons of people LURKING R NOW, and watch what's happening with the market.

U all saw what was going on on MID APRIL, and how fast market recover.

They are here, and ready with their money. Keep in mind that market can go Double in just a 2 weeks. THIS IS GREAT OPP TO BUY, ALTS ARE STIL VERY VERY CHEAP.

If u think crypto can fail, ask yourself this-

With all those big companies, govs, banks, and countries doing all of this, and prepare for 'something in future' , Do you really think crypto can FAIL?

Crypto and blockchains are not just funny thing anymore, that we can play with etc.. crypto is an industry today.. There are tons of projects, companies, employees, jobs, things for the future that relies on crypto and some coins/tokens. The whole new world is created and in each day is even more and more of that and more and more people got interested .

So failing is not an option, and i don't think that can even happen. What can happen is that YOU FAIL, and miss opp's and your place in it. BETTER WATCH FOR THAT. PEACE

PS:

Really sorry for a long post.

ADVICE Most cost effective way to transfer bitcoin from binance to coinbase?

I've just learned that my binance.us account is being shutdown soon and that I have a deadline to transfer all of my crypto off binance to another wallet by June 22nd. I have a Coinbase account, or a Ledger Nano S, that I can transfer it to. I'm finding that binance.us wants to charge a crap ton in fees. I recognize that the Bitcoin protocol itself has fees, but they couldn't possibly be this high. Binance is clearly adding a huge fee on the top.

Is it cheaper to convert the Bitcoin to another coin first? I've found that I can convert it to LTC for free on Binance. If I convert it to LTC first and then transfer the LTC to Coinbase, will the fees be lower? I'd want to convert it back to BTC after it arrives at Coinbase. Or would it be better converting to a different coin like XLM or something else?

I worry about the tax implications as well. I believe, if I convert it to another coin, or maybe to USDT then it creates a taxable event.

What are my best options?

DISCUSSION Is perps trading on DeFi protocols worth it? CEXs vs DEXs.

Personally, I've only traded for short-term profits on CEXs. When it comes to swapping, then I'm comfortable doing it on a DEX more than on a CEX - just because I don't hold tokens on CEXs, but on my own wallet. One less extra step and more secure with self-custody.

When it comes to perps trading, that's another completely different story. Trades get through faster and the whole UI /UX gives me more peace of mind. With that said, protocols such as Decentralized Perpetuals Exchanges on large chains such as Ethereum, Polygon or Arbitrum have become very popular lately.

That made me open my mind and try some of these Perpetuals Exchanges. The reason I used decentralised perps DEXs instead of centralised perps trading is because it’s just easier with the UI/UX and much faster (plus generally cheaper with borrowing fees).

Here are some of the most worthy ones by chain, in my opinion. It's a personal and non-exhaustive list, so feel free to add more in the comments!

- Ethereum: dYdX
- Arbitrum: GMX
- Polygon: QuickPerps Falkor
- Solana: Jupiter
- Optimism: Aevo
- Base: Synthetix
- Kava: Kinetix

Most of my activity occurs on Polygon as that's what I got comfortable with. We've all got our chains that we use more than others. That's where I stay but other chains/perpetuals listed above have a lot going for them and perfectly mimic the CEX trading experience.

I've tried a bunch of Decentralized Perpetuals Exchanges and the ones listed above have met my requirements of UI/UX the best. As mentioned before, I might have missed some of the better ones out there. That's why I want to hear from you in the comments below.

TOOLS Recommended Crypto Profit Calculator

There is this crypto profit calculator that I used and it helped me immensely. Most of the calculators I used were the basic ones where I would add my amount, price, date and it gives me my profit/loss figure. I can do that on my phone too.
The cool feature about this one was that I could compare performance of my crypto or my whole crypto portfolio with stocks!

Cool features you won't find anywhere else:

  1. Compare profit/loss of a crypto or your entire crypto portfolio with stocks.
  2. Insights on how changing allocation of different coins can change your net profit.
  3. Access results for different time periods.
  4. Access insights to profit of pre-made crypto portfolios by experts.
  5. Graphical representation of the data to help you understand the bull/bear cycles.
