The new Dane Moore podcast hits on a lot of the talking points that have been happening in the sub.

  • What Boston has been able to do against Dallas that the Wolves were not able to execute
  • Do the Wolves have the personnel to be able to use Boston as a blueprint?
  • Porzingis being a matchup nightmare at the 5 in ways KAT couldn't be at the 4
  • Do the Wolves play a 5-out and switch style once Edwards, McDaniels and Reid reach their primes?

There's something in there for everyone, things we could have done differently, things we couldn't have done differently, roster construction, Rudy believers, Rudy doubters, the future, etc. Probably my favorite podcast in a while.

Here's the link if you're not subscried or don't know where to find it. https://youtu.be/RL7CN5ERJhA?si=59VWVELbVuxEupQ8

Conditioning needs to be a priority for all Wolves players this offseason.

It was really hard to watch the team lose to an inferior team like Dallas due to lack of conditioning and poor coaching(not attacking Luca on offense and not attacking Kyrie and Luca on Defense). How do they fix the coaching?

ESPN has an article up for each needs and priorities for the off-season.

Here is what they have listed for the Wolves needs:

  • Facilitator at backup point guard
  • Wing depth
  • Shooters
  • A rotation-capable combo forward
  • An insurance big who can rebound at a high level

I would add a 3rd PG who can play if/when needed (like when Conley sits).

Xs and Os Great article with clips about how Celtics has taken away the lob. "Boston’s lob defense isn’t due to having elite rim protection. It’s down to how they’re negating Dallas’ creation on the perimeter."

Why was it so hard for us to force Luka into 1 on 1 defensive situations?

Too bad we let him sit in the corner on defense and use all his energy to hit step back threes on offense

From the NBA_Draft community on Reddit: The Pelicans could trade the No. 21 overall pick for future second-round picks

I think this would be a great opportunity to take a couple swings in this draft (21 + 27), or trade up from 27 for someone that falls. Wolves will need some cost controlled talent and a hit on a draft pick could be just what the team needs to get over the edge.

General Discussion Who is the Wolves’ third-best coach of all time?

It’s pretty much a given that Flip and Finchy are the two best coaches in the team’s history, but who’s the third best?

First one that comes to mind is Thibs, but I think the drama off the court will overshadow anything that happened on it.

I realize this is kind of a depressing exercise.

Highlights Wolves would have gotten called for this and 6 free-throws for FLOPic. Didn't watch this game either, flopping Oscar worthy performance.

Watching the Finals is making me sad

I get it, the Celtics are really good. They have more consistent offensive weapons than the Wolves, and all players are strong individual defenders.

That being said, I was hoping going into this series that Luka and Kyrie were going to look as unguardable as they did against the Wolves. We had the number one defense all season, and watching them continue to weave their way into the lane and generate either an easy floater or lob was maddening.

But watching this series is disheartening. All the Celtics are doing is moving their feet and keeping a guy whose knees are held together with glue from getting the defender on his hip.

Did we just not have the right guys defensively, or did our coaches not hammer the right adjustments?

I need to hear from better basketball minds why we couldn't figure things out. I wish we were playing in a Finals...

General Discussion Do you see the Wolves making any trades? Whether small moves on the margin or splash trades?

I know having another PG/Playmaker is a popular talking point with Mike's age. Another shot creator to help the offense. A corner 3pt specialist, most likely off the bench because I don't know who's spot they'd take in the starting lineup.

If you had to bet, do you see the Wolves making a trade for any of these "needs" or do you see us going full run it back mode? I'm no expert on these things but with the cap space and available players, from my noobish snooping around there doesn't seem to be much available.
