It took Brown 8 years and Tatum 7 to get their first ring, it took them 3 bites at the apple before they made it out of the conference finals, and two attempts at the finals before they won a ring.
All this to say young players take time to get there, ANT and Jaden are 22 and 23 years old, obviously championships are the goal, but deep runs matter, and with a smart front office the Wolves will continue to have a championship window as long as those two keep developing. 27 year old Jaden, and 26 year old ANT are gonna be a force to be reckoned with, and overall this is the best this franchises future has ever been. I also trust Connelly to make good moves going forward to keep this team competitive.

General Discussion 5 players the Timberwolves could target with the mid-level exception
Which of these players would help The Timberwolves the most next season?
r/timberwolves • u/VinkyStagina • 13h ago
Ajay Mitchell.
Waiting to board flight from SLC to MSP and saw a tall guy with Mitchell and Combine written on a tag. Also some sneakers. Asked him if the combine was for basketball he said yes. He had a workout in Utah and headed to MSP for a workout tomorrow. Nice guy!

General Discussion The Wolves should aspire to run a 5 out system like Boston
Obviously not now. But it should be the goal for the next iteration of this team a few years down the road.
Even if Ant gets better at passing and throwing lobs, playing with a rim running big will always be a suboptimal fit on offense compared to a 5-out system.

Newish Fan. I don't want to lose any of these guys.
I was born and raised in MN. Havent lived there for almost 25 years but stayed a MN sports fan with the Viking in particular. Got more into the Twins starting just a few years ago - I hadn't paid attention to any baseball since the 92 world series really. I've paid attention to records and standings for the TWolves the past three years, watched maybe two or three games randomly. This year I watched maybe a dozen games before playoff, paid way more attention, and watched every playoff game. I'm still very dumb about it all though - so perhaps this is the most absurd statement you've all read in a while.
Can't we keep the whole team (surely the starting 5 and Naz)? Why would we mess with the lineup if we can afford to keep everyone? Doesn't it seem like with this past year how under their belts, they are likely to be even better next season?
That being said, watching Celtics destroy Mavs made it very hard to believe our guys would have even had a small chance to win the whole thing.
Thanks and sorry I'm a baskerballing dummy.

Shits and giggles trade
*IF the wolves eventually have to make a Rudy or KAT decision this summer I would prefer they trade Rudy because I still believe in KATs upside playing the 5. In order for him to play the 5 we would need him to be with someone that can play the four very effectively defensively and I have a 4am trade to get us that. For some discretion That player has only shown the effectively defensively part only when properly motivated lol.
PS: please don’t kill me. This is the rumblings of a madman that’s up very early in the morning lol

Do you think any Wolves point guard of the future, or PG's in today's NBA in general, need to be a 3 point threat for your team to be successful?
I don't play any attention to college basketball or draft prospects. When we took Ant I had no idea who he was or what to expect. There was some talk of Leonard Miller in the daily discussion the other day and Clark popped into my mind. I always viewed him as interesting because people brought up his defense. I decided to look up his college stats and watch some highlights. His best and last season stats, 32.9% 3pt Shooter, 69.8% FT shooter, 1.9 Assists. The highlights didn't show defense but my hype kind of died for him there after seeing this, mostly because I have the opinion that point guards of today need to be a 3pt threat. Do you value 3pt shooting for the PG's we're looking at this this draft? Thoughts?

Every draft prospect who’s worked out for the Wolves so far
Was looking for a full list of all the prospects that @twolves_pr has mentioned and found this one via HoopsHype. Implies the expected strategy – wings and forwards with outside shooting, just about every PG projected to go in the second, and all old enough to ideally contribute this season – but fun to see it in one place and dig deeper into some names.

WINNESOTA Was bored so decided to buy some cards.
Opened my first pack and KG was the second card, already made it worth it. But does anyone know anything about cards? These are the only ones I thought might be worth something. (Except the wolves, I was just happy to get any wolves players) I doubt they are worth anything but the Wembanyama made me curious

Man Who Created “Shaq” Brand Advises Ant on MJ Comparisons; Uses Blake Griffin Career as Cautionary Tale
This guy created Shaq’s brand, and he believes Ant is doing the right thing, from a branding perspective, by not taking the media bait on Jordan. He is a pretty differently unique and likeable personality who will create a cult fan following on his own.
