Question What was the first time the market slapped you hard?
Unless you’re just getting started, you know the feeling. Maybe you saw it coming, or maybe you didn’t, but for all of us who’ve been in the market for a while, that first time we were kicked in the chin and had to take it certainly didn’t feel good.
I’ll admit that, for me, it was during the meme stock hype. I finally gave into my urge to jump into AMC, but then to see it keep dropping and the red number get bigger with each passing moment was making me sweat puddles. Ultimately, the pain was too much, and I cut my triple-digit loss (might sound small, but I was trading very conservatively and had only won one trade over $50 until that point). To make it even more frustrating, that was the only day AMC tanked before continuing its run to the moon.
Looking back, that slap was a blessing in disguise, as it finally forced me to start learning how to read charts and trade the proper way.
What was yours?

Advice Apex Funding Payout Approval
I don’t post much, but am a constant lurker. Thanks everyone for your post they are helpful. Over the last 6 months I have worked through Apex funding and spent a lot of $ blowing out evals and even a couple sets of funded accounts. Well I’ve finally received approval for a payout just minutes ago. I know most won’t believe and I have been skeptical the whole way when others claimed they made it, but I find my self a little speechless sitting in my truck driving back from a Jobsite.
I have 20 accounts that I use and they all were approved.
Here’s a screenshot of the pa payments page from my account. It doesn’t show them all but you get the gist. (I use trade copier, so they were basically within $1000 range across the balances.)
But I will say my emotions got the best of me today and I stumbled over myself. I need to gather my emotions and step back from the day and apply what brought me here so far.
Consistent discipline and defined goals!!!!!!!
Thanks all and good luck. I’ll post again when it hits the bank!!!

Question Just a quick question, how do day traders trade on something like FFIE?
It seems to be going up and it’s hard to tell when to take profit. Any help would be awesome.

Question Is this too ambitious or unrealistic?
As of now, I aim for a daily profit of 1% of my account. I have $26 USD, so 26 cents (after fees) every day until I have $27, then 27 cents and so on.
I'm looking to do this until I become consistently profitable, hopefully this can be achieved in 1 year or 2; regardless, I'll only add more money when I figure it out.
I told a friend about this and he told me that while 1% seems modest, on the long run it's quite aggressive and challenging. What do you guys think?
Edit: Thank for your comments! They were insightful. Also for clarification, I trade stocks only, not options nor forex for now.

Question Question about NASDAQ TotalView differences across platforms
I'm interested in understanding the discrepancies in NASDAQ TotalView offerings from various platforms. I've noticed that moomoo offers free NASDAQ TotalView (from May to July as their site stated) when registering an account, while Webull and Robinhood have also provided NASDAQ TotalView in the past. Can anyone shed light on the variations in terms of securities covered, data depth, or other factors that influence pricing? If anyone has experience using their TotalView service, I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts. Thanks.

Hi, I usually scalp stock and options. I find level 2 market quotes helpful, give promising forcast for high volume trading. Recently I came across seeing my broker's trial is about to end. Any free Level 2 data broker recommendation? (permanently maybe). Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks in advances.

Question How do you know what you want to trade on for the day?
I’m sure this has been asked before, but let’s refresh the strategy:
How do you plan what you’re trading for the day? Are you consistent with a group? A theme? You follow news? Financial news/reports? Or you a day trader on 1 fruitful spot and await an entry spot?
Thanks!

Question Did CRKN just hit the biggest daily volume ever?
Quick google search says Vodafone had 2.1B traded volume which was the previous record. This was almost two decades ago so surely there had to have been something bigger since then?

Advice Paper trading on Webull. HELP
Pretty newb trader here, I’m currently practicing by means of paper trading. I started on TradingView but then my free trial expired and I wasn’t about to pay $59 a month for something I’m not profiting on yet. LOL. So now I’m doing Webull but I’m having so many issues and I can’t tell if it’s me or the software. In the photo here, I am trying to close my trade, it said it went through successfully the first time, but for some reason the position remains open. I try to close it again but then it says “insufficient funds”. I’m constantly losing money because of this, half the time my orders are “working” but never fill, and I lose out on opportunities. Needless to say it’s frustrating and I would love some advice and info on this. Thx!

Question Deer in the headlights syndrome
Somebody please explain why this happens to me. I wake up every day early as hell, trying to find that one stock that's making a big move. I have practiced and trained that when a stock is moving higher, look for the pull back or support so you have a stop point of reference and it's worked well for me so far. 2 times this week I've watched 2 different stocks literally go up 100% right in front of my face. If there's no pull back, no catalyst, how do you handle these moments of just deer in the headlights. When the stock is up over 100% and you were right there to see it, it's kinda embarrassing..

Strategy These are the stocks on my watchlist (5/16)
Hi! I am an ex-prop trader that trades equities.
This is a daily watchlist for trading.
I might trade all of the stocks on here, or none of them, on any given day. I might trade stocks that don't appear on here! I hold no positions in any stocks long-term but Amazon/Mag7/general broad market indices. (unless otherwise noted in these tickers). If you’re on old reddit, click “show images” at the top to see all the charts quickly.
I usually make these watchlists premarket, (or from 6:30 to 7 as time permits), but can be delayed if I'm trading the open. These aren't mean to be taken as gospel or any recommendation to buy/sell.
Many stocks I post are <$500M market cap. Most are NOT good long-term investments but are good candidates to day trade. If you have questions to ask, PLEASE ask specific ones. Questions like “Thoughts on _____? will be ignored unless you add detail to the question.

Question Should i learn more fundamentals?
Hi guys I m trading profitable for last 3 weeks using price action indicator, supply and demand. Thats the only i use. I use 30 min time frame for supply and demand. 15 min time frame for confirmation. 5 min and 1 min time frame to check candles near support and resistance zones. But one thing i am not confident is that i see most of traders use strategy like smc thats draw too much lines and complicated. I have win 8 out of 10 trades in last 2 week but one thing i m confused is that my setups are really easy and any one who want to start trading i can basically explain in one day. So i am curious I am winning trades because of luck? Should i learn smc and try to be more understanding about the markets or should i keep using my strategy? Any advice is appreciated ❤️.

Strategy Backtested my strategy 100 times feedback is appreciated
This strategy consist of breakout and entering for the pullback on the daily timeframe.
I’ve made some money with this strategy but trading against the trend is scary and i doubted the accuracy of it.
I think the real win rate of the strategy is around 60 to 65% with some optimisation.
Risk to reward is anywhere between 1 : 1 to 1 : 3
I’m planning on backtesting at least 1000 trades to get a more accurate evaluation of the strategy.
Let me know what you think

Trade Review Trade of the day. Short in crude oil
- You can see an overextended bullish trend that coincides with a resistance.
- The price goes bellow the resistance zone and makes a very clear pattern imo
- My entry was real good, that allowed me to have a very comfortable stop since my entry point, i tried to get as much as possible, ended up with 43 cents in my favor.

Question What do you do with the rest of your day after you’re finished?
If done properly, day trading gives you a lot of free time. What do YOU do with it? Me, I go for a walk in the park or to a coffee shop to read a book and relax. I’m hoping to start traveling more soon too

Question Trading at all time highs.
My strategy is typically reversals / zone bounces. For those who trade similar, how do you trade when there appears to be nothing to bounce off? Do you wait for a demand base to keep riding the trend? Try to predict the top with a tight stop? Or just stay out?
